    Eligibility: This course is open to foster carers

    Our Foster Carers Engagement Event is designed to bring carers together in an open, supportive environment. These sessions provide a valuable opportunity to share experiences, ask questions, and influence the future of fostering services. Each event focuses on topics that matter most to you – from improving support for children returning home, to exploring specialist schemes and wellbeing initiatives. You’ll meet key professionals, including service managers and fostering team members, who are eager to hear your feedback and ideas. The format encourages discussion, collaboration, and practical solutions, ensuring your voice helps shape policies and practice. Whether you’re new to fostering or experienced, this is your chance to connect with others, gain insights, and strengthen the fostering community. Refreshments are provided, and time is set aside for networking. Join us and be part of making a positive difference for children and young people in care.

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • Recognise the impact of fostering on child development.
    • Gain strategies for managing challenging behaviours.
    • Share experieneces with the aim to improving foster service.
    • Understand the importance of peer support and networking.
