    Eligibility: This course is open to everyone.

    This course consists of two engaging presentations that provide an introduction to the Autism Spectrum.

    Part 1 covers essential themes such as understanding what Autism is, identifying traits and behaviours associated with Autism, and exploring the social challenges that autistic individuals face daily. It also addresses coping mechanisms and barriers to employment.

    Part 2 begins with a brief recap of Part 1 and delves into additional themes, including the different types of Autism, skills and abilities commonly associated with Autism, and mental health considerations. It examines the pros and cons of the two different models of disability and offers practical advice on how to best support autistic residents and colleagues. Additionally, Part 2 highlights famous individuals on the spectrum and includes interactive elements such as a quiz to reinforce learning.
