Eligibility: This course is open to foster carers

Children naturally experience loss and change, but for some, especially those who are bereaved, it can be particularly challenging. When children enter care or are adopted, they often feel a profound sense of loss. If the separation from their birth family is prolonged, they may also experience bereavement. This course provides an understanding of these emotions, helping you to better cope with the difficult feelings that young people may face. It also offers strategies for effective communication with your child or young person. The course covers how loss affects children of different age groups and provides practical suggestions for working with children and families to support them through these challenging times.
