Eligibility: This course is open to foster carers

This interactive workshop is designed to equip foster carers with essential knowledge and tools to support the mental health of children and young people in their care. During this workshop, we will explore what mental health is, the factors that impact it, and how to effectively support children and young people with their mental health. This includes identifying signs of declining wellbeing, offering support, and providing tools to build resilience and promote self-care.

Representatives from local services that support children and young people’s mental health, such as Kooth, Off the Record, and NHS talking therapies, will be available after the provided light lunch to answer questions about their services and how they can assist.

Join us for this valuable event to enhance your understanding and ability to support the mental health and wellbeing of fostered children.
