    Eligibility: This course is open to everyone with coaching experience.

    Coaching is a valuable skill that empowers individuals to solve problems, think creatively, and achieve goals. This practical one-day course, delivered by experienced and qualified coaches, will encourage you to explore different approaches to build your confidence as a coach, mentor, and manager. You will be guided through various models and methods, enhancing your ability to apply them with coaching clients or colleagues. This session is recommended as annual CPD for our council coaches and mentors.

    Learning outcomes

    As a result of this course, you will:

    • Practice and enhance your coaching skills through practice of the GROW model and other models.
    • Practice different tools and techniques such as coaching cards, toys, and simple creativity.
    • Assess your own coaching skills by reflecting on your experiences and create a coaching development plan.
    • Review the coaching and mentoring competencies and the global code of ethics to understand the principles that coaches and mentors need to adhere to.
    • Learn and use techniques for advanced listening skills.
    • Understand the process of contracting as a mentor and coach; what needs to be included and why.
    • Understand the role of evaluation and creating psychological safety to gain honest feedback from clients.
    • Facilitate your own personal development experience both coaching and being coached.
